Chris Took is the parliamentary candidate for the Ashford Liberal Democrats at the general election. He is challenging the Conservative party to be elected as your new MP.
Chris, who lives with his wife Josie in Kennington, is a national campaigner for Sheltered Housing UK (SHUK) and has been leading the fight in Ashford to reinstate residential wardens for those living in Sheltered Accommodation.

His five key campaign pledges are;
Pledge 1;
Fairness for the elderly. I will continue our fight to regain residential wardens to those living in sheltered housing
Pledge 2;
Fairness for the economy. Changing the tax system to ensure the first £10,000 you earn is tax-free
Pledge 3;
Fairness for our community. I will back residents rights to participate fully in planning decisions that affect their neighbourhood
Pledge 4;
Fairness in Ashford’s growth. Making sure development delivers more schools, services and jobs
Pledge 5;
Fairness for businesses and charities. Reducing red tape to encourage local enterprise and volunteer participation
Chris works for a local software company and has served four years as an elected councillor. He stood for the Ashford Liberal Democrats in 2005, increasing the vote share by more than 1000.
